U Me Aur Hum & The Notebook (4/10)

Oh what pain it is to watch 2 hours and 42 minutes of a poorly copied version of such a delightful original movie that has transcended generations in its appeal. A solid, heartwarming movie was forced into an over dramatic melodrama for the Indian audiences. Also, isn’t it too much when cruises and a side love story just have to be there for it to be a Bollywood production? Ajay’s son in the Indian remake is told this whole story just to convince him to ask out a woman he likes. That was the most beautiful part of the original, where the whole movie convinces the viewers to take heart and go after what they love. Long story short, this was a major disappointment, even if judged on the levels of copy-paste.
